1. What determines the life of a label?
Answer: The life of a label is determined by the material it is made of and how the label is being used.

2. How long can I store labels before using them?
Answer: Temperature and Humidity have the greatest affect on the 'shelf-life' of labels. The conditions where the labels are stored will determine how long they can be stored and still be useful.

3. How are labels packaged?
Answer: Depending upon the printer the labels will be used with, labels come in rolls, fanfold stacks or in sheets. The number of labels on a roll, stack or sheet, depends upon the size of the label.

4. Do you supply custom sized labels?
Answer: We specialize in custom labels, but we would first try to meet your requirements with a standard-sized label that may be close enough to fit your needs, since we have an extensive die library. If a custom label is still necessary, a custom label die will be required. The lead-time for custom labels will vary, dependent upon the complexity of the label format.

5. Do you carry an inventory of different labels?
Answer: We carry a large inventory of the more commonly used sizes and types of labels. Since the sizes cover such a wide range, please call for a specific size and material to meet your needs.

6. What determines what type of label to use?
Answer: The type of material and adhesive used for a label is dependent upon the environment and the surface to which the label will be applied. The label may require non-removable adhesive for an asset tag, a polyester label for a wet environment, or a tamper-proof label with aggressive adhesive to indicate if a label has been tampered with, such as a sealed container.
The label material, adhesive and application play a very important part in your system and we can assist you in determining your requirements.

7. Are there different types of ribbons available?
Answer: There are three main types of ribbons available, Wax, Resin and a Wax/Resin combination. The type of ribbon used is dependent upon the label material and the application.

8. Are sample labels available for testing and evaluation?
Answer:
Yes!

9. What is Direct Thermal versus Thermal Transfer labels?
Amswer: Direct Thermal labels are a treated paper which is sensitive to heat. When the label passes below the printer's printhead, the heat of the printhead causes the paper to change color. This type of label is often used in environments where the label will not be subjected to heat or sunlight and will be used for a shorter period of time, such as a shipping label.
Thermal Transfer labels are a coated paper which works in conjunction with an ink ribbon. When the combination of ribbon/paper pass under the printer's printhead, the heat causes the ink to transfer, creating an image on the label. Thermal Transfer labels are used for long-term applications such as shelf labels, parts labels or asset labels.
